March literally passed in the blink of an eye for me because of our trip. Honestly, I was shocked that we’re already in April. I forgot to mail my cousin’s birthday card for April 2 because I thought it was still March! But time marches on (pardon the pun!).
In spite of my being away from home for a good portion of the month, I used up quite a few beauty products. Let’s take a look.

Skincare

- Murad Resurgence Retinal ReSculpt Overnight Treatment: I had wanted to write a review about this treatment product, but I was waiting to use it up first. I will write it soon. Recommend? Yes, I do for women with mature skin. I bought another bottle. In fact, just a few days after I repurchased, Murad came out with “refills” for several of their key products, including this one at a reduced price. If I had known, I would have bought the replacement bottle and refill.
- Purlisse Blue Lotus 4-in-1 Cleansing Milk: I don’t know why Purlisse, a K-beauty brand I discovered years ago via Ipsy, isn’t more popular. It’s a wonderful, mid-priced, Korean skincare brand. This is the first time I used their Cleansing Milk, and it is terrific for dry, mature, somewhat sensitive skin like mine. Though it’s called Cleansing “Milk”, it isn’t runny or lotion-y like a real milk, but it’s a milk-colored, lightweight gel-cream that spreads easily as it cleanses. I didn’t find that it created suds, but it washed away the day as well as any makeup that my micellar water didn’t get rid of. It contains Blue Lotus Extract, White Tea, Soy Proteins and Whole Oat and leaves my skin feeling refreshed, soothed and silky soft. Recommend? Yes, I liked it. If I didn’t have three full size tubes of other cleansers waiting in the wings, I would buy another tube of Purlisse Cleansing Milk.
- Therapon Clinical Skin Care Cleansing Wash, travel size: I love travel size skincare kits. They are so handy for travel since they take up so little room, and they give me a chance to try new products. In 2020, I received the full size of Theraderm’s Anti-Aging Skincare set (reviewed here). I liked the clear gel Cleansing Wash a lot, so I was happy to get the travel size. Recommend? Yes, I do. In fact, I have really liked all of the Theraderm skincare products created by dermatologist Dr. James Beckman that I have tried. The travel-sized Theraderm Anti-Aging Travel Kit for $38 is well worth the price.
- Korres 360 Degree Lift Super Serum for the Eyes, travel size: In December, I reviewed the full size Korres Lift Super Serum here. When I placed an order at Korres.com, I received the travel size tube as a gift. Very handy indeed since I use Korres Black Pine 360 Degree Lift Super Serum every day. I was happy to be able to bring the travel size tube along on my trip. Recommend? Yes, enthusiastically so. This stuff works for me!
Haircare
- Vegamour GRO Hair Serum: Vegamour serum is a staple product for me if I want the hair I have regrown to stay. I need to do an update soon. Recommend? It has worked for me, though everyone is different.
- DefenAge 150K Hair Follicle Serum: Another staple for my hair regrowth treatment program. I will review this along with my update soon. Recommend? Same comment as above: it has worked for me, but everyone is different.
- Pureology Hydrate Shampoo for Dry Color-Treated Hair, travel size: I liked Pureology’s Hydrate duo (including the conditioner). I felt that they did help moisturize my dry hair. The travel size duo was handy for my recent travel. Recommend? Yes. And it smelled great, a lavender-ish scent.
- Milk Shake Colour Care Maintainer Shampoo, travel size: Lola from Lola Sceicento beauty blog introduced me to the Milk Shake haircare brand. Recently, I bought the Colour Maintainer Shampoo along with another product. I intend to review them both soon. Recommend? Yes, with a caveat. What’s fun about the Milk Shake brand is that their products have gourmand scents. In fact, Colour Care Shampoo smelled just like birthday cake. So if you are someone who prefers fragrance-free products, this isn’t for you. Otherwise, it’s a fun shampoo.
Bath and Body

- RITUALS Precious Amber Kitchen Hand Balm: RITUALS is one of my key brands for hand cream. I adore the scent of this amber-scented hand cream. Plus, it is rich enough to keep my normally dry hands from getting chapped or overdry from handwashing or dishwashing. Recommend? If you’re not an amber fanatic like I am, there are many other fabulous scents to choose from including Sakura, cherry blossom. And I just noticed that Precious Amber Kitchen Hand Balm seems to be out of stock now. Good thing I ordered a second bottle. I definitely recommend everything from Dutch brand RITUALS.
- RITUALS Ritual of Karma (Organic White Tea & Holy Lotus) Instant Hand Cream, travel size: The White Tea & Holy Lotus scent is mild and lovely. Recommend? Yes, love this one, too.
- TOA Waters Bubble Bath Gift Set: Although I used this bubble bath sampler as shower cream since I still can’t use my bath tub, I really enjoyed the sophisticated scents of TOA Waters. It was hard to choose my favorite, but I surprised myself that Sweet Temptation, dark chocolate and tobacco was so delicious-smelling that I may get a full size bottle. Each recyclable glass vial lasted me 3-4 usage occasions. Recommend? Yes, consider this as a Mother’s or Father’s Day gift or as a fun, affordable anniversary gift.
Lips & Nail Care

- City Lips Clear and Watermelon: These are my two favorite versions of City Lips. Clear is my nightly go-to to keep my lips plumped and in good shape, while opaque Watermelon is often my go-to everyday lipgloss. Love ’em both. Recommend? Enthusiastically, yes!
- Dual-sided emery board: I have no idea where I got this emery board or what the brand is. But it’s handy to keep an emery board on my desk in my office, so I used it till one of the sides lifted off. I must have another one in my stash.
Fragrance
- Lolita Lempicka Eau de Parfum for Women, sample: Like I have said before, this fragrance formula and name has been monkeyed around with so many times that it’s impossible to find one that smells like the original or just smells good. I will not count this as a product used up till I finish all my tiny sample vials. Recommend? No.
Project Pan Update
I finished February with a total of 17 empties so far for 2024. In March, I emptied 14 beauty products. Not bad at all. Now, I am at 31 empties for 2024.
